Jenson Button may have finished on the podium in Belgium, however, the Brit reckons it was a case of what might have been had the start not been so chaotic.
There were several incidents through the first corner of the 44-lap grand prix as drivers fought for track position. And Button, starting P13, found himself in the thick of it.
The Brit was hit from all sides with Paul di Resta hitting the back of his car and another rival's front wing clipping the front of his car and even destroying his mirror.
The barrage of attacks meant Button wasn't able to leap up the order as McLaren had hoped he would and he pitted on lap 4 for a change of tyres, dropping well down the order.
From there it was a case of only one way to go and that was forward as the Brit began to pick his way through the order.
And with the softer option Pirellis at his disposal in the final stint it was all out attack from Button, who overtook driver after driver to make his way onto the podium.
However, had it not been for the chaotic start, Button reckons his result could have been even better.
"I think if I had stayed in 13th after the start it would have been a lot easier to challenge these guys (the two Red Bull drivers)," said Button.
"Turn 1 was mayhem caused by the guys up front. (Paul) di Resta hit my rear wing, damaged my rear wing, half the endplate was gone and driving to Eau Rouge someone's rear wing came off and went through my front wing and took the mirror off.
"It was a bit scary. The guys said keep going until lap five, we did - then put options on and did rest of race with them.
"It was a enjoyable race. You're always going to say what could have been, but it's a good finish to get on the podium after Seb drove into me last year!"
He added: "So it was a case of what might have been, but, all in all, from starting 13th it's good to have finished on the podium."
