Lewis Hamilton has defended his management following his recent woes both on and off the track.

Hamilton's father Anthony, who acted as his manager until Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment took over in 2010, recently questioned his management team after the McLaren driver made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Defending XIX, Hamilton said: "It's not down to the management team to give me confidence. That's something that comes from within.

"I've a fantastic team. I'm massively proud of the choice I've made, and I will not go back on it.

"I've a great team of people, and a bigger team of people around me who drive me in the areas I need.

"Simon (Fuller) is incredible, a great person and human being to be around, and I'm sure in the future he'll be around a lot more."

Anthony as well as BBC F1 commentators Martin Brundle and David Coulthard had suggested that the 2008 World Champion need to have a hands-on manager who accompanies him to most races.

There is no one from XIX with Hamilton in Korea this weekend, but the 26-year-old - who says that is the exception rather than the rule.

"There have been some serious changes made over the last couple of years and moving forward I'm sure there'll be more people coming to the races more often," added Hamilton.

"This race for instance, I told them not to come because it's in the middle of nowhere and I didn't think it was necessary.

"Sometimes it's nice to be on your own. It depends on whether you like to be on your own and have a lot of people around.

"But I'd also love to see my family at more races, so I hope in the future we will have that."
