Renault team boss Eric Boullier is confident Bruno Senna will "start delivering more" from the Japanese GP onwards.
It's been a mixed start to the Brazilian's Renault career as he had everyone talking with a seventh place on the grid during his debut race in Belgium. Although he finished out of the points, it only took him another race to get on the scoreboard after a P9 in Italy. The team had a difficult weekend in Singapore and Senna started and finished P15.
Boullier feels things will start falling into place for Senna from the Japanese GP in a week's time.
"His learning curve is good and every race he is gaining something," Boullier told Autosport. "I am actually planning to be fair with you, we know in Spa that it was very difficult with the weather, Monza is a very specific track and Singapore as well is very specific - plus we don't have the best car to do well.
"From Japan he will start to put the puzzle together and from Japan he should start delivering more."
It remains to be seen who will be Renault's drivers for the 2012 as the team are still waiting to find out if Robert Kubica will be able to return to racing following his horrific rallying crash.
"I made the commitment to wait after Robert's statement so we will see later," said the Frenchman.
"I have to force myself to put a deadline. If you keep delaying and delaying and delaying then you put the interests of this team in danger. So I have to stick to one deadline. I have to stick around this date to at least understand if there is a chance for Robert to be back."
