Bruno Senna has held up his hand up after his mistake on the opening lap forced Jaime Alguersuari to retire from the Belgian GP.
The Brazilian started his maiden race for Renault in seventh place, one spot behind the Toro Rosso driver, and the two made contact at La Source. The Spaniard broke his front suspension while Senna was able to continue after a visit to the pits. He eventually finished the race in 13th position.
Algersuari was unhappy with Senna after the race.
"I don't want to speak badly about any other driver as it's not my style, but I think the situation was quite clear to everyone," he said.
"Going into the hairpin after the start, I was in the middle with Senna on my inside and Fernando [Alonso] on my outside and Senna completely missed his braking point and hit me which pushed me into the path of the Ferrari."
Senna, though, was quick to apologise to the Toro Rosso driver.
"I had never done the first corner with high fuel ever, so unfortunately I misjudged the braking area," he told BBC Sport.
"Sorry to Alguersuari, but fortunately for me, there was no damage to [my] suspension so I could continue to race. It was a misjudgement, and lack of doing it for 11 races. I should have maybe been more careful but I'm here to race and I wanted to race. I think our pace was actually pretty good and I had good experience on both sets of tyres, so now I'm looking forward to Monza."
